Remington College Launches “Adopt Our School” Program for 2011

Public schools in Remington College markets eligible for up to $2,000 worth of school supplies

Heathrow, Fla. – (February 1, 2011) – Public schools around the country have the opportunity to win up to $2,000 worth of school supplies through the Remington College Adopt Our School program.

Based in Florida, Remington College is a non-profit college that offers diploma and degree programs at 20 campuses throughout the United States. Its mission is to provide career-focused education through a variety of programs, including nursing, cosmetology, business office management and criminal justice.

The Adopt Our School program was created to assist public schools in Remington College campus communities at a time when school budgets are very tight.

The promotion is open to public schools, grades K thru 12 operating in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas, as defined by the Department of Education, and are within fifteen (15) miles of a physical Remington College campus’s zip code and grades K thru 12 operating in Hawaii as defined by the Department of Education, and are within thirty (30) miles of a physical Remington College campus’s zip code. The public can vote for their favorite school via Facebook or text message. Anyone is eligible to vote, but can only cast one vote per day. Voting begins on January 31 and runs through March 13.

The school that gets the most votes wins and will receive up to $2,000 worth of school supplies or educational materials.

Remington College awarded more than $36,000 worth of school supplies and educational materials in last year’s Adopt Our School effort.

“I would like to thank Remington College for their generosity through the Adopt Our School program,” said Robert Yount, Principal at Camden Elementary School of the Creative Arts in Columbia, South Carolina, one of the winning schools last year. “The program allowed us to purchase supplies for our music department that had only been a dream.”
