Official day honors people in the field of medical billing

Shreveport, La. – (March 21, 2011) – Doctors and nurses are often recognized for their professional efforts. Now, thanks in part to the efforts of Remington College-Shreveport Campus, another group of hard-working health care professionals is being recognized for their contributions.

Governor Bobby Jindal has proclaimed March 24th as Medical Biller’s Day in Louisiana.

The official proclamation states, in part, “Medical Billers provide a much needed service to doctors and other healthcare providers and provide a vital segment of the healthcare industry.”

The staff at Remington College-Shreveport Campus was instrumental in the effort to gain the official recognition from Gov. Jindal’s office.

The Remington College Medical Billing and Coding Program is a diploma program for students interested in the field. The program can be completed in as little as nine months and is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions as medical coders or insurance coders. [i]
