Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy wins Remington College “Adopt Our School” Vote
School wins $2,000 in school supplies from Remington College
Colorado Springs, Colo. – (May 4, 2011) – The votes are in and Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy will receive $2,000 worth of school supplies from Remington College-Colorado Springs Campus.
Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy received the most votes in Remington College’s Adopt Our School program, an effort by Remington College to assist local public schools with up to $2,000 worth of school supplies. The winning school was chosen by the public through Facebook and text message voting.
This is the second consecutive year that Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy has been the winning Colorado Springs school.
The staff at Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy has requested school supplies and will receive more than 250 student portfolios, markers, sticker books, chalk holders, rulers and more.
The school supplies will be delivered to the school on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 8:00 am. The school is located at 1832 South Wahsatch Ave. in Colorado Springs. Media are invited to cover the event.
The goal of the program is to help out public schools in Remington College campus communities at a time when school budgets are very tight.
“We congratulate Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy and are thrilled to be able to provide them with school supplies,” said Shirley McCray, Remington College-Colorado Springs Campus President. “We know all public schools are struggling with their budgets and we’re happy to be able to help out one of our local schools with some much-needed educational materials.”
