Humble High School wins Remington College “Adopt Our School” Vote

School wins $2,000 in school supplies from Remington College

Houston, Texas – (May 17, 2011) – The votes are in and Humble High School will receive $2,000 worth of school supplies from Remington College-North Houston Campus.

Humble High School received the most votes in Remington College’s Adopt Our School program, an effort by Remington College to assist local public schools with up to $2,000 worth of school supplies. The winning school was chosen by the public through Facebook and text message voting. This is the second consecutive year that Humble High has been the winning school for this Remington campus.

The staff at Humble High has requested classroom supplies (more than 3,000 each of pencils, pens and highlighters) and newspaper and magazine subscriptions for the library (Houston Chronicle, USA Today, Car & Driver, Time, Newsweek, Texas Monthly, Ebony, Redbook, Teen Vogue and several others).

The school supplies will be delivered to the school on Thursday, May 19th at 6:30 p.m.. The school is located at 1700 Wilson Road in Humble. Media are invited to cover the event.

The goal of the program is to help out public schools in Remington College campus communities at a time when school budgets are very tight.

“We congratulate Humble High School and are thrilled to be able to provide them with school supplies and library materials,” said Dr. Hiram Nall, Remington College-North Houston Campus President. “We know all public schools are struggling with their budgets and we’re happy to be able to help out one of our local schools with some much-needed educational materials.”
