Mayde Creek Junior High School wins Remington College “Adopt Our School” Vote

School wins $2,000 in school supplies from Remington College

Houston, Texas – (May 17, 2011) – The votes are in and Mayde Creek Junior High School will receive $2,000 worth of school supplies from Remington College-Houston Campus.

Mayde Creek Junior High received the most votes in Remington College’s Adopt Our School program, an effort by Remington College to assist local public schools with up to $2,000 worth of school supplies. The winning school was chosen by the public through Facebook and text message voting.

The staff at Mayde Creek Junior High has requested a variety of educational materials, including more than a dozen library books, 15 educational dvd’s, science materials and school supplies (60 packs of paper, index cards, pencil sharpeners, flip charts, pens, markers and more).

The school supplies will be delivered to the school on Thursday, May 19th at 10 a.m. The school is located at 2700 Greenhouse in Houston. Media are invited to cover the event.

The goal of the program is to help out public schools in Remington College campus communities at a time when school budgets are very tight.

“We congratulate Mayde Creek Junior High School and are thrilled to be able to provide them with such a variety of items,” said LaShundia Brooks, Remington College-Houston Campus President. “We know all public schools are struggling with their budgets and we’re happy to be able to help out one of our local schools with some much-needed educational materials.”
