Remington College-Fort Worth Campus Holds “Safe Smiles” Event on June 11th

No-cost event features dental health advice and family activities

Fort Worth, Texas – (May 17, 2011) – Remington College-Fort Worth Campus will provide complimentary “Toothprint” services, dental health tips and family activities at an event called Safe Smiles.

The event will be held on Saturday, June 11th, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Parents can take advantage of complimentary Toothprint services for their children. The Toothprint is a special child identification device that records both bite characteristics and DNA information. Parents receive a wafer with the information imprinted on it that serves as a permanent record like a fingerprint. In addition to the DNA sample, the saliva scent on the wafer can be used by tracking dogs in the event of a missing child.

The Toothprint procedure takes only a few minutes and children as young as 3-4 years of age are usually able to provide an acceptable imprint.

Parents will also find tips on proper brushing, flossing and overall dental health.

Students and staff from the Remington College Dental Assisting Program will be hosting the event.

The Remington College Dental Assisting Program is a diploma program that can be completed in as little as eight months. It is designed to cover a variety of topics, including oral anatomy, oral radiology and other specific dental procedures for people interested in pursuing entry-level positions as dental assistants[i].

Remington College-Fort Worth Campus is located at 300 East Loop 820 in Fort Worth.
