Shreveport’s Bossier High School wins Remington College “Adopt Our School” Vote
School wins $2,000 in school supplies from Remington College
Shreveport, La. – (May 20, 2011) – The votes are in and Bossier High School will receive $2,000 worth of school supplies from Remington College-Shreveport Campus.
Bossier High School received the most votes in Remington College’s Adopt Our School program, an effort by Remington College to assist local public schools with up to $2,000 worth of school supplies. The winning school was chosen by the public through Facebook and text message voting. This is second consecutive year that Bossier High has been the winning Shreveport school.
The staff at Bossier High has requested a variety of classroom supplies and will receive dry erase markers, Sharpies, sticky notes, tape dispensers, sheet protectors, pencils, tape, staples, address labels, rulers, rubber bands, file folders, index cards, a printer, 100 umbrellas and more.
The school supplies will be delivered to the school on Monday, May 23rd at 10:30 a.m. The school is located at 777 Bearkat Drive in Bossier City. Media are invited to cover the event.
The goal of the program is to help out public schools in Remington College campus communities at a time when school budgets are very tight.
“We congratulate Bossier High School and are thrilled to be able to provide them with such a variety of school supplies,” said Jerry Driskill, Remington College-Shreveport Campus President. “We know all public schools are struggling with their budgets and we’re happy to be able to help out one of our local schools with some much-needed educational materials.”
