Remington College-Little Rock Campus Awarded 2011 Sponsor of the Year by the Greater Ozarks Chapter of the American Red Cross

Campus recognized for its 3 Lives campaign to increase the number of minority blood donors

Little Rock, Ark. – (July 7, 2011) – Remington College-Little Rock Campus is one of six central Arkansas businesses to be recognized for their support of the American Red Cross Greater Ozarks Arkansas Blood Region.

Remington College-Little Rock Campus was named 2011 Sponsor of the Year for its 3 Lives blood drive campaign.

3 Lives is a community outreach effort to increase awareness of the need for minority blood donors and includes several blood drives throughout the year. Last year the Remington College-Little Rock Campus collected 198 pints of blood, and 82 pints have been collected during the first half of 2011.

“Businesses are chosen for their commitment to addressing the constant community need for blood and their dedication to educating others about this important need,” said Alan Gibson, Red Cross spokesman.

Jennifer Owens, Director of Education at Remington College Little Rock Campus, was given special recognition by the Red Cross for leading the successful team effort that it takes to hold the blood drives.

“Jennifer’s dedication to this important effort clearly shows her commitment to the Remington College mission of community service,” said Gibson.

“We’re very proud of the award from our local Red Cross chapter,” said Randal Hayes, Remington College-Little Rock Campus President.  “It shows that the effort we put in to collecting blood and raising awareness of this important issue are making a difference in the Little Rock community.”
