Remington College-Columbia Campus Offers Cuts for Cause in November
Campus cosmetology department offers a complimentary haircut, manicure or pedicure to people who donate non-perishable food items
Columbia, S.C. – (October 19, 2011) – Remington College-Columbia Campus is holding a food drive to benefit local food banks and offering a complimentary haircut, manicure or pedicure to anyone who brings in a can of food or other non-perishable food donation.
The effort is called Cuts for Cause and will run throughout the month of November.
The complimentary salon services will be provided by students and instructors in the Remington College-Columbia Campus cosmetology program.
“This is an opportunity for people to feel good as they help out needy families in our community, and look good when they leave with a new haircut,” said Toby Hayes, Remington College-Columbia Campus President.
The Salon at Remington is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 am to 11 a.m. (appointments only).
Appointments can be made by calling 803-214-9090; walk-ins are welcome during the week.
The Remington College Cosmetology Program teaches students the art of hair, skin and nail care through traditional classroom instruction and hands-on training. Students have the opportunity to work with real clients in a salon-like setting.
The Salon at Remington is located at 607 Bush River Road in Columbia.
