Remington College-Little Rock Campus Holds Community Food Drive November 5 – 8
The public is invited to drop off canned food donations to help the Arkansas Food Bank
Little Rock, Ark. – (October 3, 2012) - Remington College-Little Rock Campus will hold a community food drive from Monday, November 5 through Thursday, November 8. The collection will take place on the Remington College-Little Rock Campus from 8 am to 8 pm, and the public is invited to participate.
All the food collected will be given to the Arkansas Food Bank. The top ten suggested donation items are:
- Canned meats, fish or poultry
- Peanut butter
- Soup
- Canned beans, tomatoes and corn
- Canned fruit
- 100% juices
- Pasta
- Pasta sauce
- Dinner mixes
- Diapers
According to the Arkansas Food Bank, 78% of their clients live on incomes below the federal poverty level, and 39% of their clients have had to choose between paying for food and paying their rent or mortgage.
“The holidays are just around the corner, and it’s important for us as a campus to pitch in and try and help out those in need in our community,” said Dr. Rosalie Lampone, Remington College-Little Rock Campus President.
