Remington College-Nashville Campus Receives Awards for Cosmetology Program
Modern Salon honors top cosmetology programs
Nashville, Tenn. – (October 30, 2012) – Remington College-Nashville Campus has received two national honors for its cosmetology program. The program received Excellence in Education Honors, in the categories of school culture and technology, from the editors of Modern Salon.
Modern Salon’s Excellence in Education program recognizes programs for outstanding leadership and commitment to excellence, awarding the best in the industry.
Remington College-Nashville Campus has been invited to attend a special recognition ceremony at the American Association of Cosmetology Schools annual convention later this month.
“We’re very excited to receive this honor, especially in the category of school culture,” said Larry Collins, Remington College-Nashville Campus President. “We’ve worked very hard to create a culture where our students feel very connected to the school, and where our school is very connected to the community.”
The Remington College Cosmetology Program teaches students the art of hair, skin and nail care through traditional classroom instruction and hands-on training. Students have the opportunity to work with real clients in a salon-like setting.
As for technology, the program incorporates a virtual learning environment, where they can interact and collaborate on assignments as well as other innovative e-learning elements.
The Student Salon at Remington College is currently getting ready for its annual Cuts for Cause program, where people can get salon services in return for donating to the campus canned food drive. During the summer, families can take advantage of Cuts for Kids – an opportunity to get complimentary back-to-school haircuts for kids. During prom season, high school kids can get the royal treatment before the big event – all at no charge.
“Our community involvement allows our students to get hands-on training by working with clients, and at the same time we can give back to the Nashville community,” said Collins.
