Remington College-Shreveport offers Heartsaver CPR workshop on Feb. 23

Public invited to attend Saturday, February 23 event and learn how to save a life

Shreveport, La. – (January 24, 2013) - Remington College-Shreveport Campus invites the public to learn about CPR and first aid at a Heartsaver® CPR workshop on Saturday, February 23 from 1 – 4 pm.

Heartsaver® CPR is a video-based course that will be led by Clark Riser, Department Chair for Health Services at Remington College-Shreveport Campus, who is a certified American Heart Association Instructor.

Participants will learn how to administer CPR and use AED devices, as well as the critical skills needed to manage a first aid or choking emergency in the first few minutes before emergency crews arrive.

The workshop will also cover the treatment of bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies.

After completing the workshop, participants will receive an American Heart Association First Aid CPR AED Course Completion Card, which will be valid for two years.

The cost of the workshop is $25. Participants must register for the event by February 14 by calling 318-671-4022.

People can also purchase a gift certificate and send a family member or friend to the workshop.
