REMINGTON COLLEGE JOINS DEION SANDERS AND TXA 21 TO HELP DFW–AREA RESIDENTS

Dallas–Fort Worth – Remington College is proud to be a new sponsor for “SandersClaus,” a charitable organization established by former Dallas Cowboys Cornerback Deion Sanders and TV station TXA 21 as a venue to help area residents in need. This sponsorship, beginning in January 2008, entails the College’s support of the SandersClaus organization’s efforts in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. Remington College is excited about the opportunity to be an active participant and help those in need in the local community.

Each week, TXA 21 profiles a deserving local individual or family with considerable needs and explains how TXA 21 and SandersClaus have partnered with a local business to help fulfill those needs. The station’s committed efforts are allowing the SandersClaus program to interact with TXA 21 viewers on a personal level and make a positive impact in the DFW community.

“SandersClaus” is a part of my calling to provoke change,” Sanders explains. “This project ultimately brings people from all walks of life, as well as communities, together. I’ve come to the realization that pain, suffering, and need know no ethnicity, demographic, or financial status. Together, we can make a difference.”

TXA 21 Senior Vice President and Station Manager Gary Schneider comments that programs such as SandersClaus allow the station to reach out to North Texans on a very personal level. “It’s our goal as a local, independent television station to foster a real relationship with those who watch TXA 21. That requires two-way communication — true interaction — with our viewers. This is one of the ways we can do just that and make a positive impact on our community at the same time.”

Those wishing to nominate a family or an individual in need of help can do so online at www.txa21tv.com. Local businesses or families willing to offer help may also contact the SandersClaus program in this way.

KTXA-TV (TXA 21), along with sister station KTVT-TV (CBS 11), is part of CBS Television Stations, a division of CBS Corporation consisting of 39 stations, including 21 CBS, 11 The CW, three MyNetworkTV, and four independent stations not affiliated with major networks.
