Remington College-Tampa Campus Offers New Dental Assistant Program
Diploma program trains students for jobs in growing dental field
Tampa, FL – (April 2009) – Remington College–Tampa Campus is now enrolling students for its new Dental Assisting Diploma Program. The program curriculum includes training that will qualify students for an entry-level position as a dental assistant.
The program lasts a minimum of eight months and begins with students learning the fundamentals of dental science, including oral anatomy and radiology. Instruction will also be provided on making casts of teeth, creating temporary crowns, chair side assisting, preparing for dental emergencies, maintaining records and scheduling and receiving patients.
The dental assisting program consists of eight learning units. The program culminates with an externship where students can get hands-on experience and gain valuable work skills.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the job outlook for dental assistants is excellent. Dental assistants are expected to be among the fastest-growing occupations from 2006-2016, with a projected 29% growth rate.
