Remington College-Mobile Campus Offers New Cosmetology Program
Diploma program trains students for jobs in cosmetology field
Mobile, AL – (December 2009) – Remington College-Mobile Campus is now enrolling students for its new Cosmetology Diploma Program.
The Cosmetology program teaches students the art of hair, skin and nail care through traditional classroom instruction and hands-on training in the “Remington School of Cosmetology”, which allows students the opportunity to work with real clients.
In addition to books, equipment and supplies, included in the cost of tuition, each student in the Cosmetology Program will also receive a styling kit (retail value of approximately $2000) to use during their enrollment. The kit includes shears, combs, rollers, a flat iron and other styling essentials, which the students can keep after graduation.
“The cosmetology program will be a great addition to our campus,” said Stephen Backman, Campus President. “The opportunity for students to get hands-on experience working with real clients is a tremendous plus.”
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the job outlook for personal appearance workers is expected to grow by 14% from 2006 to 2016, with some specialties seeing even more growth*. For example, employment of manicurists and pedicurists is expected to grow 28%, and the need for skin care specialists is expected to grow 34% during this same time frame.
In addition to Cosmetology, Remington College – Mobile Campus also offers degree programs in Computer and Network Administration, Criminal Justice and Electronics and Computer Technology. Diploma programs are offered in Computer-Aided Design and Drafting, Medical Assisting, Medical Billing and Coding and Pharmacy Technician. The campus is located at 828 Downtowner Loop West in Mobile.
