Humble High School wins Remington College-North Houston “Adopt Our School” Vote

Remington College provides iPads to be used for student prizes

Houston, Texas – (May 17, 2010) – The votes are in and Humble High School will receive $2,000 worth of educational items from Remington College-North Houston Campus.

Humble High School received the most votes in Remington College’s Adopt Our School  program, an effort by Remington College to assist local public schools with up to $2,000 worth of school supplies. Nominations and voting were done online by the public.

Gone are the days of schools simply needing pencils, pens and copy paper. The staff at Humble High School has requested Apple iPads to be used as student prizes.

One iPad will be awarded to the top student in the school and three will be used as raffle prizes for students attending end-of-the-year events. On Wednesday, May 19th at 7:00 a.m., representatives from Remington College-North Houston Campus and Humble High will surprise the school’s top student with their iPad.

Media are invited to cover the event. The school is located at 1700 Wilson Road in Humble.

“We congratulate Humble High School and can’t wait to present the iPads,” said Dr. Hiram Nall, Remington College-North Houston Campus President. “We’re happy to be able to provide these great tools to some deserving students.”

“We are extremely honored that our campus has been chosen to receive this donation,” said Charles Ned, Humble High School principal. “It’s nice to have the opportunity to give this type of recognition to students who have worked hard and put forth the extra effort.”

Remington College-North Houston Campus will hold another Adopt Our School competition in the fall, with another $2,000 worth of school supplies for the winning school.

The Adopt Our School program is part of “Remington College Reaches Out,” a series of community initiatives and charitable efforts to mark the college’s 25th anniversary in 2010.
